The Selection for the Disability Pathway was Followed by 26 Participants, Some Still Tried, Even though They Had Failed

Head Student Achievement and Special Path Section, Ainur Rifqi, S.Pd., M.Pd., said the special disability pathway was part of the Computer-Based UNESA Entrance Test (TMUBK). Besides TMUBK Disabilities, there are also academic and applied undergraduate TMUBK.

" The implementation time is the same for the undergraduate group, from registration to the selection process. Now, only those specifically with disabilities do have special exceptions. The selection for disabilities is adjusted to the needs of the participants," he said.

Selection This special disability is divided into several stages. The first is a written test that is conducted online and offline. The second is the interview test or skills test. Based on the data, participants who took part in this interview stage reached 26 participants.

" "Yesterday, thank God, there were 2 participants who took the offline written test at UNESA, we provided full facilities. Meanwhile, the others chose the online test and everything went smoothly," he explained.

Test The disability independent pathway interview was carried out in 3 places, namely a special room for the blind, a room for the deaf and a combined disability room. This division is intended to determine the proper composition of the interviewing team.

In the interview test, apart from involving lecturers from the Special Education Study Program (PLB), there was also a team consisting of psychologists, admissions and the deputy dean for academic and student affairs of the Faculty of Education (FIP).

" We present experts to interview prospective students to ensure the study program they choose is based on their talents and interests and abilities," said Rifqi.

Khoirul Anam, one of the interviewees stated that he was nervous. Anam's determination to pursue higher education deserves a thumbs up. "Even though the previous year I failed, this year I'm trying again. I want to go to college and want to study. I hope I can pass UNESA," he said.

Male This graduate of Aisyiyah Tulangan SLB accompanied by her mother chose the Special Education (PLB) and Counseling Guidance (BK) study programs as her goals. In preparation, he has learned to use a computer and studied material related to the study program he is aiming for.

Dwi , Khoirul Anam's mother said that Anam was also actively involved in religious organizations in her village. Apart from that, Anam actively participates in tutoring to support his knowledge. He hopes that this experience can lead Anam to be accepted as a UNESA student

Director Disabilities, Dr. Wagino, M.Pd., said that every year UNESA accepts students with disabilities on the SNBP, SNBT and special SPMB pathways. At this SPMB, there were 26 participants who registered and had already taken part in the selection process, all went smoothly, just waiting for the results.

Dia added, UNESA is committed to providing access to higher education for all generations of Indonesians with disabilities and non-disabilities.
