Disability-Friendly and Independent MBKM Bring UNESA Wins 2 Ministry of Education and Culture Awards

Secretary General of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Suharti said, there were 57 tertiary institutions which received awards in various categories and sub-categories. Curation with clear and strict indicators is applied to select each recipient of the award.

" This award is given based on monitoring and evaluation results accompanied by evidence of implementation based on recent verification results from the Inspectorate General as a responsible work unit," said Suharti.

Minister of Education and Culture Nadiem Anwar Makarim congratulated the universities that won the award, including UNESA. It is an appreciation for the commitment and good cooperation in the implementation of MBKM on each campus.

Mas The Minister (his nickname) hopes that this award can be a motivation for higher education to continue to provide the best, make important transformations and breakthroughs in realizing quality, friendly and fun education for generations of the nation.

Rector Unesa Nurhasan expressed his gratitude for the appreciation and award. According to him, since the beginning the campus he leads has been here to provide a friendly education for the sons and daughters of the country, both those with disabilities and those without disabilities.

Top With that commitment, the campus with the tagline 'House of Champions' is trying to produce various breakthroughs in inclusive education services. This effort can be seen through the Special Education Study Program (PLB) which was later strengthened by the Center for Disability Studies and Services (PSLD) which later became the Directorate of Disabilities.

Dia added, through this special institution, many international collaborations have been carried out, such as the development of Signalong Indonesia or a keyword-based sign language system. It was developed with experts from the UK.

Unesa also launched UNESA-DIMETRIC (Disability Inclusion Metrics) as an effort to encourage the creation of environments and educational institutions that are friendly to persons with disabilities in the world. Apart from that, of course, opening new student admissions pathways specifically for disabilities, providing scholarships, special companions, wheelchairs to special motorbikes are also prepared for student mobility in the campus area.

On On different occasions, the Deputy Chancellor for Education, Student and Alumni Affairs, Madlazim said that his party continues to facilitate students to take courses at other universities, take part in internships in the world of business and industry (dudi) and government agencies. “ We designed the KKN-MBKM in the form of five main themes, namely projects in villages, independent projects, entrepreneurship, teaching assistance and independent studies. Our goal is to provide an opportunity to develop its potential more broadly. Other programs are PLP, research, internships and so on," Madlazim said
